Our behind the scenes fashion tour will take you above street level with stops at fabric stores and production facilities. On this journey you will meet some “garmentos” and see places designers frequent for inspiration. They include a mix of clothing and accessory showrooms with emerging and established collections. Most take credit cards but a few are cash only. Occasionally, the fashion designer is present to meet and greet shoppers. Personal shopping or group tours are available. Our 3-hour fabric & trim tour is a fun way to spend a day in the Garment District. It is designed to teach the client about the design process from concept to production with an emphasis on sourcing fabric and trim. Please note that production facilities are closed on the weekend. This tour is perfect for emerging designers, home sewers, students, tourists or those who get excited by fabric. We start at Mood fabric with a Project Runway type competition and stops include fabric, trim, notion, bead and sewing supply stores.
